In Coronary Care Unit

I have been treating Cardiac emergencies independently and conducting various procedures like Endotracheal intubation, inserting transvenous pacemakers, Central venous cannulation and inserting Swan-ganz catheters, Intra aortic balloon pump and Haemodynamic monitoring for the past several years.

In Non-Invasive Lab

I am well versed with procedure of stress testing and have been doing Echocardiography with Doppler independently, I am also trained in Transesophageal Echocardiography and have conducted a workshop with Dr Bijoy Khanderia of Mayo clinic at Nanavati Hospital in January 1992. I have been routinely reporting Holter and Ambulatory blood pressure recordings.

In Invasive Lab

• I have been performing Coronary angiographies, cardiac catheterisation and assisting in various Interventional procedures since 1991. I have been independently performing Coronary angioplasties including Complex and Multi-vessel angioplasties since 1996. I have been routinely performing Primary ( area of special interest ) and Rescue Angioplasties and Angioplasty in Cardiogenic shock, Peripheral and Renal Angioplasty with stenting also form a part of my routine Interventional practice.
• I had the privilege of deploying the first Drug Eluting Stent CYPHER at Nanavati Hospital.
• I with my team of colleagues successfully closed a Post-infarction Ventricular Septal Defect for the first time in the city of Mumbai.
• I have been independently performing Pulmonary, Mitral and Aortic Valvuloplasties.
• I am well versed with basic procedures of performing Electrophysiological studies for Sinus & AV nodal disease.
